Summer
La Thuile is the last Italian village that one finds on the Piccolo San Bernardo road, a historic pass between Italy and France. On this pass at 2188m one finds the historic hospice where people, surprised by bad winter weather whilst crossing the border, used to stay or where discovers having been forced to hide would meet the abbot, the rector of the hospice.

On the French side, one can find a botanical garden of alpine flowers, the garden of Chanousia. It contains a precious show of plants in such a small space.

For walking lovers one can admire the Rutor waterfalls up to the glazier, or go on excursions in the deep valley of Arpy to admire the homonymous lake amongst others.

By booking with the village syndicate one can visit local producers and taste local products. There are mountain bike trips with easy trails adapted for both adults and children, with the possibility of going on a trip using the chairlifts.

In addition, in the summer it is possible to go rafting! Actually starting on the Dora from La Thuile one can descend on a rubber tyre together with other people whilst enjoying and admiring the splendid scenery.

Winter
From the end of November to the end of April , La Thuile offers an ample choice of pistes for all levels, from easy pistes for beginners to difficult pistes for experts. In addition, the pistes (150km and 35 lifts) are always perfectly groomed all season.

Still with the same skipass it is possible to ski to the foot of La Rosière ski resort in France.

As well as alpine skiing it is possible to go snowboarding, nordic skiing, heli-skiing or simply enjoy the tranquillity of the forests with a pair of snowshoes.

Children can enjoy themselves in the snow play park, a kids club and an amusement arcade.
